Roof access hatches compared: the possibilities for roof terrace and roof garden

Back to all blogs | Glazing Vision Europe | Tutorials

If you are facing the choice what roof access hatch best fits your wishes, there are two possibilities: hinged and sliding.

Roof access with a Sliding Box

The difference between a sliding roof access hatch and a hinged roof access hatch is that the sliding roof access hatches could have a larger surface. A Sliding over Roof, for example, could be 4.8 m2 in one piece, while a Sliding box could even be 6 m2. As such, a rooflight is created that (partly) slides open to provide access to a roof terrace or for ventilation of the home.
